Whether you have been in therapy for years or are just
beginning, finding a "good fit" is the first step toward change.

The therapeutic work that I do is based in the principles of
Hakomi and mindfulness while combining elements of Buddhism
and yoga.  The focus the work is on present process, meaning
we will focus on what is happening in the here-and-now.

I work with people using mindfulness which is a way to study
yourself to see, feel, and learn what you don't know about your
life for the purpose of self study, not as a meditation practice.

I have a master's degree in Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling from PSU and have
successfully completed two years of comprehensive training in the Hakomi Method and I am
currently a member of the assisting Hakomi staff.

While the work I do is guided by mindfulness and compassion, it is equally influenced by the
latest discoveries in attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology.  This means that we
will look at ways of being that are no longer serving you and find new ways that do.

In addition to my professional training as a counselor I bring my knowledge of nutrition,
experience in meditation, and passion for personal growth into the therapeutic relationship.

I view therapy as an intimate form of learning.  In this sense counseling is a vehicle to assist
people in getting more out of life by slowing down and increasing awareness around habits.
It is my privilege to provide the safe, comfortable space necessary for change to occur.

I develop a collaborative partnership with clients, providing professional support that allows
you to gain clarity and a deeper understanding of your Self.  Using attachment theory as a
guide, we will explore relationships - your relationship with yourself as well as with others.
We will spend some time in the past undoing old experiences and spend time in the present
    re-wiring new ones.

Mindfulness and compassion help provide a grounded yet spacious container for the process
of deeper self-understanding.  Most people are able to reflect on their problems and insight
is valuable, but it is in studying experiences and in the creation of new ones that change
occurs.  This style of therapy lets you practice experiencing yourself as you want to be.

My work is rooted in the belief of the innate wholeness of every being.  I believe everyone
can reach an optimum state of health.  To achieve this I develop a partnership with clients,
providing professional support that allows you to gain clarity and a deeper understanding
of yourself and your relationship with others.
